About the Wollombi Valley Country Fair
The Wollombi Valley Country Fair is organised by a range of individuals and representatives of Wollombi Valley community groups.
These include members of Wollombi Valley Progress Association, Wollombi Endeavour Museum (Cessnock Historical Society), Valley Artists, Wollombi Valley Chamber of Commerce, Wollombi Valley Wine Trail, Sculpture in the Vineyards and Wollombi Valley Online (GWCA).
The idea came about when the 2009 Sculpture in the Vineyards Lantern Parade and Opening Ceremony fell on the same day as the Wollombi Tavern Woodchop and a team was invited to investigate taking the two events further with other activities in and around the village.
Wollombi Endeavour Museum decided to take the second day of the weekend for their open day so that the celebrations in the village could extend over two days.
The actual "Fair" is a relatively small event on the side of the main events, the Wollombi Tavern Woodchop and Lantern Parade on Saturday and the Wollombi Endeavour Museum open day on the Sunday.
We expect a range of local stalls selling fresh and preserved produce, arts and crafts as well as stalls by local community groups (e.g. Wollombi Valley Landcare Group) to discuss issues with the community.
We are inviting producers and artists from the greater Wollombi Valley area to apply for a stall in the fair, to be held around the Tennis Courts in Negro Street Wollombi on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th November 2010. Please see the form below for further details.
