Taste the History in Wollombi Village

On the 7th and 8th of November, historic Wollombi village will come alive with the inaugural Wollombi Valley Country Fair.

A produce market featuring local fresh and preserved produce, arts and crafts, local wine and food stalls and family games will help bring together three main events.

Saturday from 10, the annual Wollombi Tavern Woodchop - featuring the Wollombi round of the NSW 300mm Standing Block Championship and 8 other categories with presentation of the Neville Craft Trophy in the afternoon and food and entertainment into the night.

Saturday evening, children from local schools and crafty community members will feature in a lantern parade displaying paper and cane lanterns they have created in workshops, culminating in the 2009 Sculpture in the Vineyards opening ceremony.

On Sunday, The Wollombi Endeavour Museum will hold their open day and an historic machinery display from collectors across the region. There will be a dog fashion parade, croquet demonstrations, a boules tournament in memory of local artist and icon Bernard Gay and post & rail fencing and timber slab-cutting demonstrations.

Come and Taste the History in historic Wollombi village from 10am Saturday 7th November through to 4pm Sunday 8th November.
